One year after his girlfriend was killed in an unsolved murder, college dropout Jack holes up with a temp job, a guitar and an underachieving rich girl who toys with smack.  The anniversary of the crime brings a visitor with urgent information, forcing Jack to consider how close one must be to a tragedy in order to mourn it, and how far some people will go to feel included.
